Features — AI Clinical Documentation Built for Therapists
Clinical documentation takes time away from the work that matters. Between session notes, treatment plans, intake reports, and correspondence, many therapists spend as much time writing as they do in session. ConfideAI was built to change that.
ConfideAI is an AI clinical documentation tool designed specifically for mental health professionals. It generates therapy notes, SOAP notes, treatment plans, intake reports, and more — all within a confidential computing environment where your client data is protected by hardware-secured enclaves during processing. No recordings. No transcripts scraped from sessions. Just your clinical input, transformed into structured documentation you can review, edit, and use.
20 Clinical Templates Covering the Full Episode of Care
ConfideAI includes 20 purpose-built clinical templates, each grounded in peer-reviewed literature and designed around real therapist workflows. Every template includes guided input fields that show you exactly what to include, accepts short key phrases, and produces structured clinical output ready for the record.
The full template library:
- SOAP Notes — Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plan format from session notes or transcripts
- BIRP Notes — Behaviour, Intervention, Response, Plan format for community and crisis settings
- DAP Notes — Data, Assessment, Plan format with integrated risk documentation
- Treatment Plans with SMART Goals — Comprehensive plans with measurable objectives tied to your therapeutic modality
- Modality-Specific Interventions — 5 to 7 tailored intervention recommendations for a specific client problem and approach
- Session Preparation — Structured session plans drawing on case history, recent themes, and current goals
- Collaborative Treatment Plans — Updated treatment plans generated from collaborative planning session notes
- Progress Reviews — Mid-treatment periodic reviews synthesising session notes, treatment goals, and outcome data

- Initial Assessment Session Notes — Document the first session with presenting problems, history, MSE, risk assessment, and initial formulation
- Structured Intake Reports — Formal intake assessment reports with all standard sections from identifying information through to recommendations
- Audience-Specific Report Summaries — Summarise assessment reports for different audiences: clients, parents, schools, employers, GPs, psychiatrists, lawyers, or courts
- Reflective Supervision — Open-ended supervision questions tailored to your modality and case material
- Ethical and Cultural Reflection — Structured prompts for examining ethical dilemmas, cultural factors, and countertransference
- Psychoeducation Handouts — Client-facing educational materials adapted to reading level and cultural context

Every template includes academic citations supporting its approach. The AI is instructed never to fabricate content beyond what you provide and to use cautious, provisional language for clinical impressions.
15+ Therapeutic Modalities — Your Modality, Your Language
AI-generated clinical documentation is only useful if it sounds like you wrote it. ConfideAI lets you select your therapeutic modality, and the AI adapts its language, framework, and intervention suggestions accordingly.
Supported modalities include:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
- Psychodynamic Therapy
- Person-Centred / Humanistic Therapy
- Jungian Analytical Psychology
- Narrative Therapy
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
- EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)
- Motivational Interviewing
- Somatic / Body-Oriented Therapy
- Existential Therapy
- Gestalt Therapy
- Internal Family Systems (IFS)
- Mindfulness-Based Approaches
- Trauma-Focused Therapy
- Integrative / Eclectic
When you select a modality, the AI weaves orientation-specific concepts and terminology into every template. A treatment plan generated through an ACT lens will reference psychological flexibility, values clarification, and defusion techniques. The same presenting problem through a psychodynamic lens will explore unconscious processes, relational patterns, and early life experiences.
This is not cosmetic relabelling. The modality selection modifies the AI's system instructions so that interventions, goals, and clinical language stay consistent with how you practise.
Blended and Integrative Approaches
Most experienced therapists don't practise from a single rigid orientation. You might draw on CBT techniques for thought restructuring, use ACT-informed values work to set direction, and hold a psychodynamic understanding of the therapeutic relationship — all within the same client. ConfideAI supports this. You can select multiple modalities, and the AI will weave concepts, language, and interventions from each into your documentation. The result reads the way you actually think and work, not the way a textbook says you should.
Document Chaining Across the Episode of Care
Clinical documentation does not exist in isolation. A treatment plan draws on the intake assessment. Progress notes reference the treatment plan. A discharge summary synthesises everything. ConfideAI's templates are designed so the output from one stage can be used as input for the next — you control the process, feeding outputs forward as you work through the episode of care.
Your clinical notes and key phrases are the starting point. From there, ConfideAI's templates are designed with no gaps between stages of the treatment cycle — the output from one template naturally provides the input for the next. A referral letter informs the intake preparation, which informs the assessment, which informs the treatment plan, through to discharge summary and referrer feedback. You guide the process at every stage, adding your clinical judgement as you go.
Referral Letter → Intake Preparation Planner → Initial Assessment Session Note → Structured Intake Report → Treatment Plan with SMART Goals → Session Notes (SOAP / BIRP / DAP) → Progress Review → Updated Treatment Plan → Discharge Summary → Referrer Feedback Letter / Referral Letter
Hardware-Level Confidential Computing
Most AI tools ask you to trust their privacy policy. ConfideAI offers something substantially stronger: hardware-level protection during AI processing, verified by cryptographic attestation.
ConfideAI is built on confidential computing infrastructure using Intel TDX (Trust Domain Extensions) and NVIDIA H100 GPUs with Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs). Your data is protected during AI processing, inside a hardware-secured enclave that even the operating system cannot access. ConfideAI does not store any clinical content on its own servers.

Client-Side Document Processing
Before any data reaches the confidential AI environment, ConfideAI processes your uploaded files locally in your browser:
- PDF files are parsed using Mozilla's PDF.js library, extracting text content client-side
- Word documents (.docx) are processed using Mammoth.js for text extraction in the browser
Raw files — your PDFs and Word documents — never leave your browser. Only the extracted plain text is sent to the Trusted Execution Environment for AI processing.
Export Options and Workspace Management
- PDF Export — Download any conversation as a formatted PDF document for your clinical records
- JSON Export — Machine-readable format for integration with other systems or long-term archiving
- TXT Export — Plain text format for maximum compatibility
- Workspace Backup and Restore — Export your entire workspace and import it on another device or browser
ConfideAI is currently in free beta. If you are a mental health professional looking for AI clinical documentation that respects your workflow and your clients' confidentiality, we would welcome you to try it.
